Improving people’s mental health and wellbeing is an integral part of all our services. Our holistic projects are designed with recovery as a focus. Our team have completed Mental Health First Aid and Trauma Informed training. Some team members have extensive experience in counselling and psychotherapy and have personal experience of living with mental health challenges. We also work in partnership with a wide range of organisations and health professionals to effectively refer and signpost people to clinical and non-clinical services.
Many of our projects such as ‘Families First’ and ‘Creative Pathways to Smart Money’ offer holistic support in one-to-one counselling, money advice, group therapy and wellbeing sessions. Within these projects, we offer cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as a psychotherapeutic treatment to help people learn how to identify and change destructive thought patterns that can have a negative influence on behaviour and emotions.
Outdoor Group Therapy
We have offered outdoor group therapy sessions since 2014 with activities that include gardening, forest school, outdoor cooking, yoga, nature, art and money management. The sessions are run by expert facilitators who have a background in bushcraft, forest school, gardening, NLP, psychology, counselling and art therapy. Our outdoor sessions improve people’s confidence, motivation and help them find a sense of belonging by connecting with others and the natural world.
